On October 14, 2017, the Shepardson Community Center field will be transformed into a field of vendors designed to bring both town residents and tourists together to enjoy the beauty and vitality of a fall afternoon in Middlebury. “Celebrate Middlebury” will feature the latest in food-and-festival trends -  with Middlebury restaurants, small business and community organization activities such as information tables and crafts and small games, live music for the whole family, locally sourced handicrafts for sale, and much more. “Celebrate” will be held at the Shepardson Community Center field.   The festival will be open from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. to allow people plenty of time to visit with neighbors, learn about local businesses, dance along with friends to a live band and sample the wares of local restaurant vendors.

The fall festival is the work of the Celebrate Middlebury Committee.  Celebrate is a group comprised of personnel of the Middlebury Parks and Recreation, and residents of Middlebury, whose mission is to provide community-wide programming to encourage a sense of community pride and civic investment among town residents.  This festival is endorsed by the Middlebury Economic and Industrial Development Commission for the creative way Middlebury businesses and organizations will be featured. There are several ways to be a part of the festival.  They include:

  1. Registering to have a table at the festival. There is a fee of $25 per registration for an in-town business to participate.  Participating businesses will be assigned a space along on the field where they may set up a table, display, sell items, hand out literature, meet future customers, etc. Remember, festivals typically draw large crowds of both area residents and out-of-town visitors.   A PDF version of the form is available at the bottom of this webpage.
  2. We want our local restaurants to benefit from this festival.  There will be a BEST TASTES OF MIDDLEBURY “neighborhood” set up in the field, which will feature ONLY MIDDLEBURY RESTAURANTS.  The registration form for Middlebury restaurant owners can be found at the bottom of this page.
  3. Businesses that are not able to be present at the festival can help by offering cash or in-kind donations.  This festival will bring both town residents and out of town visitors to Shepardson.  We hope to have it looking beautiful with donations of autumn décor and Middlebury-related memorabilia.  Please contact us to discuss your ideas!
  4. Community organizations are welcome to register as well.  Each participating organization will have a designated space and are encouraged to plan interactive displays and activities as well as providing information.   There is no charge for a Middlebury non-profit organization, but registration is a must as space is limited.  A PDF version of the form is available at the bottom of this web page.
