Mission

The Middlebury Public Library’s mission is to provide information, resources, and services that educate, enlighten, entertain, and inspire our community to learn at every age. Present holdings include more than 75,000 circulating materials, including but not limited to books, audiobooks, DVDs, magazines, and museum passes. We also offer an extensive digital collection in both ebook and audio formats.

Patrons are welcome to access the Middlebury Public Library’s free resources: computers, Wi-Fi, and programs for all ages, from birth to 100 years. Programs include book discussions, creation labs, story times, etc. Our building, renovated in 2013, offers a quiet reading area, fireplace, five personal study rooms, a surround sound theater system, and an art gallery featuring local artists’ talent. The Library’s hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 10 am-5 pm, Tuesday 10 am-8 pm, and Saturdays 10 am-2 pm (closed from Memorial Day to Labor Day). We hope to see you at the Library.
