Funds Available For Home Repairs
The Town of Middlebury has funding available to assist income eligible residential property owners for repairs to existing residential properties. Funds can be used to perform a variety of repairs and upgrades including but not limited to code violations, increased energy efficiency and other rehabilitation approved by the Town.
Eligible items include heating updates, plumbing repairs, electrical updates, roof replacement weatherization, such as insulation, window replacement and siding. Well and water line connections and septic and sewer connections are also eligible All work must conform to State and Local codes and is awarded through a competitive bidding process approved by the Town.
Applicants are eligible for participation based upon Federal income limits. Maximum gross household income limits vary based on the household size; for example, a family of four would be eligible with a gross household income of $63,900.00 or less, while a two person household can earn up to $51,1150.00 and a one person household $44,750.00. Applications are available in the Social Services Office at 1172 Whittemore Road in the Shepardson Community Center. Social Services is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Applications are accepted and processed on a first come first serve basis, pending the availability of funds.
