Phase One Reopening of Local Businesses

MIDDLEBURY BUSINESSES RE-OPEN WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 2020.


The Town of Middlebury is working in conjunction with the State of Connecticut’s reopening plans amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The first phase – which includes restaurants; offices; retail stores; and outdoor museums and zoos – is currently planned to take effect beginning May 20, 2020.  Business are not required to open if they do not choose, however if they do, they must follow the rules as prescribed.

The protocols below were developed by Governor Lamont and gives the First Selectman and other local officials the authority of oversight and should be strictly followed by ALL businesses within Middlebury.

Before you can open your doors, you must self-certify with the State of Connecticut (see link #1 below) and provide evidence that you are following strict safety guidelines to keep your employees and customers safe.

Please carefully review the following links to the protocols and instructions that MUST BE COMPLETED have been prepared specifically for our community businesses.  All forms should be emailed to the Land Use Office by email.
