Public Works Department Services

Road and shoulder maintenance of approximately 65 linear miles of town roadway
Bridge repair and rehabilitation
Maintenance and construction of the town’s drainage system
Snow and ice removal on town roads, and town parking lots and sidewalks
Annual street sweeping program
Sign installation and maintenance (regulatory signs under the direction of the police department)
Public tree care
Roadside mowing and shoulder maintenance
Mowing over 40 acres of manicured lawns
Shrub and plant maintenance for town properties
Inspection of new road construction ensuring conformation to local regulations
Maintenance and custodial services for municipal buildings
Town building opening and closings
Illegal dumping cleanup on town property
Fleet maintenance and repairs
Support staff for many of the town’s special events
Management of the Transfer Station
Administration of the bulk hauler contracts
