  • Ticks must be submitted by the Health Department, not individuals
  • Effective January 1, 2006, unengorged deer ticks will not be tested for the presence of the organisms that cause Lyme disease. Studies have shown that ticks that have not become engorged with blood do not transmit the disease organism.
