Middlebury Connecticut will be celebrating its 200th year of incorporation in October 2007.
 We are using this site to plan a number of events during that year leading up to a town-wide party.

The Middlebury Historical Society invites you to the return of Company 1 of the 2nd Connecticut Volunteer Heavy Artillery at the Shepardson Community Center Field

Saturday - April 1, 2006
10:00 AM. - 4:00 P.M.

Rain or Shine

 

Uniformed reenactors will demonstrate the history of the actual 2nd Conn. Regiment with a glimpse of late winter camp life in the 1860's. Will include marching maneuvers, inspections and rifle musket drills.

Camp demonstrations include:

-- Open hearth cooking
-- Women's fashions
-- Children's games
-- etc..

Inside the Shepardson Community Center Auditorium will be additional displays related to this period from the Middlebury Historical Society collection.

Light refreshments will be available.

Open to the public - Free of charge.
