1. Meeting called to order by Chairman R. Vitarelli at 7:00 p.m.

2. The minutes of the March 9th meeting were reviewed and unanimously accepted.

3. The LOGO CONTEST winners were announced by Crosby Middlemass. She and Suzanne Kenishea commented on the quality and thoughtfulness that went into their creation by the students. Firstst Selectman E.B. St. John and Selectman Elaine Strobel will present the awards at April 29th at the awards ceremony.

4. The “authentic bicentennial publication” was discussed by the committee, no vote taken.

5. Ron Vitarelli suggested we seek cooperative publicity with the Middlebury Historical Society.

6. Our participation in the 2007 Memorial Day Parade was discussed. The Committee is working with Parks & Rec. on this, and has met with Carol Cipriano, Director. It was suggested by Carol that we enter a “Bicentennial Float” in the parade; however the theme of the parade is Memorial Day. Appropriate music to be coordinated with Carol.

7. Financing and sponsorships were discussed. Ray Sullivan suggested pay-back of funds to town from the “Bicentennial treasury”.

8. OTHER BUSINESS:

 Crosby Middlemass volunteered to assist Betty Proulx with the Silent Auction Betty is working on.

 Terry McAuliffe explained in detail the merits of a “Remembrance Video”, similar to one produced by the Town of Wilton, CT. He asked those in attendance to watch the airing of the Wilton video, which Arlene McAuliffe is presenting on Public Access TV.

9. There being no further business, the Committee adjourned the meeting @ 8:45 p.m., motioned by Chairman R. Vitarelli, 2nd by Ray Pietrorazio, and unanimously voted to adjourn.

Respectfully submitted,

Raymond Pietrorazio
