Minutes of the Middlebury Bicentennial Committee
February 2, 2006
Those present were Ralph Barra, Beth Bartholomew, Danny
Bartholomew, Bob Desmarais Sr., Kelly Ecsedy, Robin Fenn, Suzanne Kenishea,
Sandy Larkin, Arlene McAuliffe, Terry McAuliffe, Michael McCormack, Crosby
Middlemass, Alicia Ostar, Ray Pietrorazio, Betty Proulx, Robert Rafford, Jill
Regan-Baltrush, Heidi Shea, Ron Vitarelli, Harold West.
- Meeting
called to order @ 7:09 p.m. by Chairman Ronald Vitarelli.
- A
group identification “round the table” followed meeting opening.
- The
minutes of the January 5th meeting were reviewed and
unanimously accepted, motioned by Lee Ostar and seconded by Ron
Vitarelli.
- A
brief update on the LOGO CONTEST was presented by Suzanne Kenishea.
All is going quite well, no hang-ups to date.
- Terry
McAuliffe discussed Event Committee Roles and Responsibilities.
- A
proposal for large posters to be placed at high-traffic stations in
town was presented by Ray Pietrorazio. He and Ron Vitarelli laid out
format during the previous week. It is expected to have these posters,
along with response cards, in place within the month of February. It
is expected they will be up for about four or five months.
- Ron
Vitarelli suggested a form letter go out addressed to all boxholders.
Various issues were discussed. It was agreed the letter should go out
just as soon as possible. Ray P. recorded all the responses from the
floor on the proposed makeup of the letter.
- A
BUDGET must be prepared as soon as possible. The Board of Finance is
waiting for this, as well as the Board of Selectmen. The steering
committee is gathering input from the Event Committees in order to
produce a meaningful overall budget.
- Major
Events committee members mentioned some preliminary figures regarding
their budget projections.
- A
SOCK HOP was suggested by Major Events Committee for approx. June,
’07. This is not firm, however.
- There
being no further business before the Committee, a motion to adjourned
by Terry McAuliffe, and seconded by Ray Pietrorazio. Committee voted
unanimously to adjourn @ 8:20 pm.
