MIDDLEBURY RECREATION AREA
Official Opening
Memorial Day weekend- May 24, 25, 26

Hours of Operation
Weekends:    Open weekends only from May 24th to June 15th. Swimming allowed.
Weekdays:    Open for picnic and boating only, weather permitting from May 26th – June 13th. No swimming allowed-lifeguards not available.
Season:         Open June 16th to Labor Day.
Weekdays opens at 11:00 a.m. to sunset. Beach will open for swimming at noon.
Weekends opens at 10:00 a.m. to sunset. Beach will open for swimming at 11:00 a.m.
Rain Policy:  Area closed if raining at 12:00 p.m.

MRA Passes, Boat Racks & Lockers
Sale Date:     Saturday, May 3rd (weekdays only after date)
Time:             9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Location:      Parks and Recreation Department. 1172 Whittemore Rd, Rm 1

MRA Beach Passes
Details:           Residents and property owners must show proof of residency, i.e. car registration. License, property deed, or tax receipt. Photo ID required.
Fee:                $70 per family
$35 single
$10 per extra car sticker
Seniors 65 and older are eligible to receive free individual passes. Family members under 65 not eligible to use this pass. $70 per extra car sticker.

Boat Rack Rental
Details:           Residents must have membership pass before renting boat rack. Racks can accommodate sunfish, sailfish, wind surfers, kayaks. Limited spaces available for canoes and a limited number of standard size rowboats. No phone reservations allowed. Limit one rack per family.
Fee:                $45 per rack

Wooden Storage Lockers
Details:           Limited number of lockers available to pass holders on first come, first serve basis. Limit one locker per family. No phone reservations allowed
Fee:                $50 for season

M.R.A. COTTAGE: For staff only from 9:00 a.m. to closing. Special arrangements may be made for rental after 8:00 p.m., contact the Recreation office. Rental Fee: $100

M.R.A. Rules:
1. Cars must park in spaces designed for parking in upper lot. No parking allowed on hill or lower area. Once the lot is filled no cars will be admitted.
2. Pets are not permitted in area.
3. No food or drink allowed on beach or grass area beyond cottage.
4. Fishing not permitted-Memorial Day to Labor Day.
5. Area open (weather permitting) from May 31stto June 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for picnics and boating only.
6. Alcohol abuse is prohibited. Anyone who is intoxicated will be removed from the area.
7. All boats must be stored on racks when not in use. Launch area must be kept clear. Every person must wear USCG approved life jacket before entering any boat.
8. Residents must book all family or friend gatherings thru the Recreation office prior to event to receive special group rate. Call Recreation for details and rates.

BEACH RULES:
1. Swimming in designated area only when lifeguard on duty.
2. Area will be cleared at first sound of thunder.
3. All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
4. Running and horseplay not allowed on the beach, dock or rafts.
5. Small raft reserved for adults.
6. Backflips off the dock or raft prohibited.
7. No diving off dock.
8. No scuba diving.
9. Carrying or towing another individual is prohibited.
10. Visiting with lifeguard on duty is not allowed. Lifeguard stations for guard only.
11. Beachball, flippers, facemasks and all flotation devices prohibited.
12. Infants and children still in diapers must wear appropriate protection while in the water.
13. Please change diapers in restrooms.

M.R.A. Picnic Area
Facilities are available on first come, first serve basis. No exceptions. Ground fires not permitted. Hibachi grills are not to be placed on picnic tables. Clean area before leaving.

Tennis Courts
Reservations for play may be made with gate attendant on busy weekends and holidays. Open for play on a first come, first serve basis. Play limited to 1 hr. singles and 1 1/2 hrs. doubles.

Play Equipment
Play equipment can be signed out thru the snack bar attendant for Bocci, horseshoes & shuffleboard when snack bar is open. See area supervisor when snack bar is closed.

11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Ice Cream, candy, snacks, water for sale.

Memorial Day Weekend
10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday

Picnic and swim

M.R.A. July 4th Celebration
Time: 09:00am - 11:00pm
Residents and pass holders having family celebrations are limited to 15 nonresident guests per pass holder to allow all other pass holders the opportunity to enjoy the park. All large picnics must register with Recreation office prior to July 4th. Early table saving is limited to one table per group.

Fireworks
Time: 10:15pm - NA
Only residents will be allowed into the M.R.A. after 8:00 p.m. (providing parking is still available). There will be a $3.00 per car charge for residents without a M.R.A. membership.
